The Project on Sustainable Development Networking Programme (SDNP) has been sponsored by the India-Canada Environmental Facility (ICEF), New Delhi. The Project has been executed by the Ministry of Environment and Forest (EI) Division and coordinated by the Institute for Ocean Management, Anna University, Chennai. The Project duration is for 2 years from June 2005.

The objectives of the project are to develop a SDNP website, which can support the Sustainable Development of resources by integrating the resources available in the existing ENVIS centres network. About 20 thematic areas and the involving centres were identified as SDNP partners. Bi-annual e-newsletters will be published to integrate the themes, which can provide and support the sustainable management planning. The most direct beneficiaries of ENVIS Network on Sustainable Development will be the information users involved in the sustainable development process.
