This Issue of Population and Environment Bulletin presents the keynote address delivered by Dr. S.P. Sharma at the evaluation workshop of thematic ENVIS Centres held at IIPS, Mumbai.

It presents Tables on access to safe drinking water, sanitation and clean fuel in the urban areas by size class of urban centres and maps of these amenities at the state level.
